Not that kind of girl

(Last night’s post)

Take it from me; you do not want to be the girl whose cousins feel forced to go to your wedding.

My husband and I have two wedding invitations tonight. Both are girls, both have the same first names (f-a-ra-h) and both weddings are taking place in the Klang Valley. The difference is one is just a colleague of my husband’s and the other is a first cousin. But we are going to the colleague’s wedding, without any hesitation.

The reason is simple. Although the cousin is a relative, we hardly know her. Heck, I don’t even know her second name! And we are talking about husband’s family who is as close-knit as can be. According to my husband, this cousin has an attitude problem. “Her sister is not as bad as she is, though”, he once told me.

Whatever it is, it’s very unfortunate that all her cousins on her father’s side feel forced to go to this cousin’s wedding. Everyone is going ONLY because another cousin they are closer to will be there. Sad, isn’t it?

And THAT is why you DO NOT want to be the girl whose own cousins feel forced to go to your wedding.
