What’s wrong with local TV? I’ll tell you…

I saw the finale of Explorace a few days ago and was appalled with the way the show was edited.
One of the challenges which the three teams had to complete was to eat a very pedas soup and then down (that soup) with very black coffee at Dome, Bukit Bintang.
Because all of them were trying to “inhale” the soup, they ended up barfing it all up within minutes later.
When you need to barf, you need to barf, right? There’s no holding it in.
But what I don’t understand is how the crew can be stupid enough not to prepare buckets for that “challenge” the way they do on Fear Factor?
It was so gross! One couple actually didn’t make it to the toilet!
If that was not enough, the cameraman actually followed the contestants into the toilet (female toilet mind you) to film them vomitting!
Please, can’t they have some privacy? Don’t these people have dignity? Didn’t you stop to think that maybe they’d like to tape the finale as memento to show their family or kids in the future.
What is even more apalling is that the producers of the show actually approved those disgusting scenes! Tell me, how can the society benefit from seeing people throwing up (all over the place) on national tv?
The way I see it, there are several ways of doing this tastefully.
One is to prepare puke buckets. At least you spare people from “seeing” what have been consumed minutes earlier.
Two is to blur out those scenes. If you can blur out people’s faces to protect their identity, surely you can do the same to protect their dignity?
I’m in favour of the latter choice.
I hope they get a lot of angry viewers writing in to complain about this. Otherwise, these rating-crazy producers will always push the envelope. Seriously, what’s next? People purging on TV? Insaflah.
